‘Dirty Paws’ For The Cause

What do you get when you combine a trio of military veterans with a stand-up comedy act, and a fundraiser to help a whole lot of dogs and cats? You get Dirty Paws!

It’s time for a new fundraiser event for The North Fork Animal Welfare League. Planned for the evening of Friday, January 20, 2023, it falls at a time when the holiday celebrations have ended, we’re starting to feel cabin fever from hiding away from the freezing winter weather, and we all just need a night out.

Join us for a night of laughs for a great cause, and enjoy Greenport Harbor Brewing Company too. Tickets include a free glass of beer or wine. Then, you can go ahead and try more of their craft brews, if you’d like. Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. in Peconic also offers an extensive menu of delicious food choices, which will be offered a la carte. (Not included with admission.)

So, what will this comedy night feature? The 90-minute comedy show features The Veterans Comedy Assault Team: Ray Negron, “Tugboat Manny” Bojuad and Quentin Davis.

Quentin Davis is a soldier, father and comedian. He has performed at various comedy clubs, including the Broadway Comedy Club, Mohegan Sun and The Stand. Quentin has performed all over the northeast. He currently performs in Albany, where he is active duty for the U.S. National Guard.

“Tugboat Manny” is a former Naval Reservist of the Gulf War Era, who teaches Military Veterans the Fine Art of Stand-Up Comedy to help Vets reintegrate back into society. Manny is also a Mental Advocate, who performed on stages such as, Comix, Mohegan Sun, The Borgata in Atlantic City and the NYCB Theatre at Westbury.

Ray Negron is a retired fireman, local attorney and is currently serving his 37th year in the U.S. Army. He has performed in NYC, Mohegan Sun and many special events on Long Island.

They all met through the non-for-profit group ‘Project 9 Line’ headquarters in Islip. Project 9 Line treats soldiers with PTSD through the Fine Arts. Veterans can learn guitar, painting, yoga, comedy and more.

All three comedians have different styles and reach into their own life experiences in different ways.

Don’t miss out on this night of ‘dirty’ comedy, great company and help The League!
